Delaney Irwin picked up a ground ball, beat her defender and scored with 26 seconds left in overtime of a back-and-forth season-opening win for the Cadets on Tuesday.

Irwin scored five goals with two assists. Amanda Effland added three goals and an assist, while Kennedy Chamblee had three goals with two assists. Bella Pellet had a goal and an assist.

Goalie Sam Lenfesty made 14 saves.

The Lancers’ Emma Roerty led all scorers with seven goals, while Sarah Roerty scored three and Adrianna D’Amore had two. Goalie Laura Glawe made seven saves.

Linganore won the JV game 9-7.
